BLUE NUTHATCH
Place: Hemnant Trail, Frasers Hill
Date: 13 May 2018
On my last day of this trip I managed to photograph this Blue Nuthatch. The last time I managed to photograph this species was a few years back in the Cameron Highlands. Firstly, I have to apologise as the photos were heavily cropped and noisy as the light was bad. The bird was very tiny and about 60 feet up the trunk of a tree, and with my Sigma 150-500mm zoom lens on my 5D3 the images I got were like a dot. I think its size is no more than 9cm. It was crawling up and down the trunk very fast looking for insects. It belongs to tree crawlers family.

MUGIMAKI FLYCATCHER?
Place: Hemnant Trail, Frasers Hill
Date: 12 May 2018
I am not sure of what species this one is but the closest resemblance is to Mugimaki Flycatcher. It is quite small in size, i say not more than 10 cm long and quite skittish. The color without flash is very dark blue or black for the back and tail. The flash turned the top color into blue. The rest of the body is deep yellow or light orange. It was very difficult to photograph as it was very small and skittish.
I will update later when i find more reference for this little guy.
